1. Booking Your Wedding Cake

• A wedding date is not secured until the booking retainer has been received.
• Quotations are valid for 30 days from the date issued unless otherwise stated.
• A non-refundable booking retainer of 25% of the quoted value is required to secure your wedding date. This retainer reserves production time, design work and diary space and is therefore non-refundable.
• Once the retainer has been received, a legally binding contract exists between Angel Cakes and the client.

2. Design & Consultation

• Your quotation is based upon the design, size, flavour and styling discussed during the consultation process.
• The final design, including flavours, colour palette, decorative elements and portions, should be confirmed no later than 8 weeks before the wedding date.
• Minor adjustments may be accommodated after this point at our discretion but cannot be guaranteed.
• As every cake is individually handmade, slight variations may occur between sketches, inspiration photographs and the finished cake.
• Exact colour matching cannot be guaranteed. We will make every effort to achieve the closest possible match.
• We reserve the right to make minor design modifications where necessary due to structural requirements, weather conditions, venue limitations or the availability of materials.
• We cannot replicate another cake designer’s work exactly and reserve the right to interpret inspiration images in our own style.

3. Payment Terms

• The balance is payable in full no later than 6 weeks before the wedding date.
• No reminders will be issued. It is your responsibility to ensure payment reaches us by the due date.
• Failure to make payment by the due date may result in cancellation of the booking and loss of all monies paid.
• No cake will be delivered, collected or set up until full payment has been received and cleared.

4. Allergens & Food Safety

• All cakes are produced in a kitchen where nuts, peanuts, gluten, dairy, eggs, soya and other allergens are present.
• Whilst every reasonable precaution is taken, we cannot guarantee that any product is entirely free from cross-contamination.
• Full allergen information is available upon request.
• It is the client’s responsibility to notify us of any allergy requirements before booking.
• Once the cake has been delivered, we cannot be held responsible for allergen contamination caused by third parties, including florists, caterers, venues or guests.

5. Fresh Flowers & Decorations

• Fresh flowers are not included unless specifically stated.
• Where fresh flowers are supplied by a florist, the florist remains responsible for ensuring that all flowers are safe and suitable for use in contact with food.
• Angel Cakes accepts no responsibility for contamination arising from flowers or foliage supplied by third parties.
• We strongly recommend that your florist liaises directly with us regarding quantities, sizes and installation requirements.
• Where artificial flowers or decorations are supplied by the client or another supplier, we accept no liability for their suitability, safety or condition.

6. Delivery & Set-Up

• Collection from Angel Cakes is available by prior arrangement.
• Once a cake has been collected by the client or their representative, responsibility for the cake transfers immediately to the client.
• Where delivery has been arranged, we will deliver and set up the cake at the agreed venue.
• Whilst every effort is made to deliver at an agreed time, exact delivery times cannot be guaranteed.
• After the cake has been delivered, assembled, photographed and left in the care of the venue, responsibility for the cake transfers to the venue and/or client.
• We cannot accept liability for any damage occurring after delivery, including damage caused by venue staff, caterers, florists, guests, children or other third parties.

7. Weather & Outdoor Events

• Wedding cakes are delicate food products.
• Buttercream, chocolate, sugar flowers, wafer paper decorations and sugarpaste may be affected by heat, humidity, direct sunlight, wind, rain or other environmental conditions.
• Where a cake is displayed outdoors or in an environment unsuitable for cake storage, Angel Cakes accepts no liability for deterioration, movement, melting, cracking, collapsing or damage caused by environmental conditions after delivery.

8. Venue Access

• The client is responsible for ensuring the venue provides safe and suitable access for delivery and set-up.
• Additional charges may apply where access restrictions were not disclosed at the time of booking, including excessive distances from parking areas, multiple flights of stairs, restricted access times or delayed access.

9. Cake Stands & Hire Items

• Any stand, separator or display item supplied by Angel Cakes remains our property at all times.
• A refundable security deposit may be required.
• All hired items must be returned within 14 days of the wedding in clean and undamaged condition.
• The client is responsible for the replacement cost of any lost, damaged or unreturned items.

10. Cancellations

All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing. If you cancel your booking:

• More than 6 months before the wedding date: retainer only.
• Between 6 months and 3 months before the wedding date: 50% of the total order value.
• Less than 3 months before the wedding date: 100% of the total order value.

Any payments already made are non-refundable where they fall within the applicable cancellation charge period.

11. Postponements

• One postponement may be transferred to a new wedding date without loss of monies already paid, subject to our availability.
• Where the new wedding date falls in a future pricing period, additional charges may apply to reflect increases in ingredient, material and operating costs.
• Any subsequent postponement will be treated as a cancellation.
• If we are unavailable for the new date, the postponement will be treated as a cancellation.

12. Force Majeure

We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control including, but not limited to:

• Severe weather
• Flood
• Fire
• Pandemic
• Government restrictions
• Utility failures
• Illness, injury or death
• Transport disruption
• Supplier failure

In such circumstances we will make every reasonable effort to fulfil the contract or assist in finding an alternative solution.

13. Complaints

• Any concerns regarding the cake must be brought to our attention within 48 hours of delivery or collection.
• Complaints relating to the quality of the cake must be supported by the return of the remaining cake where reasonably possible so that a fair assessment can be made.
• We can only discuss complaints with the person who entered into the contract with Angel Cakes.

14. Photography & Marketing

• We reserve the right to photograph our work and use images of your cake for marketing, social media, website galleries, competitions, publications and promotional purposes.
• Professional photographer images remain subject to the photographer’s copyright.

15. Limitation of Liability

• Nothing within these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded.
• Subject to the above, our total liability arising from any claim shall not exceed the total amount paid for the wedding cake order.
• We shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential losses including loss of enjoyment, emotional distress, loss of opportunity, loss of profit or additional wedding expenses.

16. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales and any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
